I am visiting the Purple Bamboo Park in the western part of Beijing City. This is a fully urban area with not only numerous bamboo species but also diversified bird species. Platforms around the lakes serve as an invitation to observe water species. Information boards provide information about the park's bird species. I also recently discovered the wildbeijing.org website, on which Terry Townshend is allowing us to discover birds and other wildlife in sites located further away from the city centre.
